“One Square Meter Berber Paper’' by Mina Abouzahra (@minaabouzahra), and ...,staat (@staatamsterdam, @jochemstaat) took home it’s Bronze Lamp in Designs, Editorial category.
The paper is the documentation and celebration of a cross-cultural collaboration between Amazigh female Moroccan weavers and four Dutch designers. The collaboration involved sharing techniques and knowledge, resulting in a fusion of traditional craft and modern narratives.
Through …,staat’s excellent vision, the editorial unfolds the tale of the craft from myriad perspectives, fostering new connections and illuminating the profound impact of cross-cultural curiosity and collaboration. It champions fresh, sustainable, and meaningful consumerism while honoring the artistry of female weavers and shedding light on their challenges in the Berber rug industry.

We won gold at the European design awards!
We are delighted to announce that the contemporary publication about the One Square Meter Berber project made in collaboration with Creative Agency Staat has won Gold at the European Design Awards!
The publication appears in a 1m2 paper and is filled with stories about the unique collaboration between Dutch Designers Amie Dicke, Bertjan Pot, Wieki Somers and Mattijs van Bergen, and Moroccan craftswomen.
A creative love story for makers, designers and consumers, where crafts meet design.
